![]() Because we had waited so long, Leo sent over 2 more complimentary drinks to compensate for the wait. He returned less than 15 minutes later with our bountiful plates of New England style corned beef, cabbage, carrot & potato. He returned to the table and said food was on the way. Perhaps he forgot to put the order in or perhaps the kitchen was in the weeds (there was also a huge private party upstairs) but as soon as the eye signal was sent, Leo was on it. However, after almost an hourI caught Leo's eye and gave him the "what's up with our dinner" shrug. The place was certainly a-buzz with Irish music and loud conversation but were in no particular hurry catching up on conversation & gossip. About 30 minutes in, our exceptional Caesar salad arrived complete with perfectly fried egg on top. It took awhile to put our food order in after that but he was in constant eye contact with us. He got the complimentary drinks to us right away. He was running around like crazy but still managed to make eye contact with us to let us know we were not forgotten. Did I mention the place was packed? OK, let me mention we also had THE BEST waiter ever in Leo-not the owner-but the waiter/sommelier. Not only did he offer us his table & seat but bought us a round of drinks as well!! Off to a good start. ![]() As we wondered about looking for an empty table or just a seat, a divine intervention was sent our way when a lovely gentleman beckoned us over to his little table and said he was about to leave in a bit. The party had started at 4pm and that was obvious by the happy atmosphere & vibe going on. ![]() OK, I thought-why not? The place was full to capacity when my friend and I arrive around 6:30.
